The story goes that in the community of San Nicols, an Otomi woman captured the inspiration of the animals, landscape and plants around her on a canvas with colored threads beginning what is recognized today as the embroidery tradition, Tenangos. Each piece takes 70 hours to make, and is pinned and float mounted over a flax backer to highlight each
